Beautiful Lake Ouachita State Park in Mountain Pine, Arkansas is considered the gateway to scenic Lake Ouachita. The pristine lake features 975 miles of shoreline completely within the state’s borders. Lake Ouachita is nestled in the Ouachita National Forest and has been named an exceptional water resource as one of the cleanest lakes in the entire country. Visitors looking for outstanding fishing, boating and watersports find the park an excellent vacation destination. The full-service marina is designed to enhance the experience of boaters on the lake.
The Ouachita State Park Marina offers rental boats, a bait and tackle shop with live bait, fishing supplies and fuel. 70 covered and uncovered boat slips are available, and boaters will find battery charging, mooring buoys and boat towing. Visitors may rent 16-foot fishing boats, an 18-foot waterskiing boat and party barges in a range of sizes. There are also recreational craft including pedal boats, water bikes and canoes for rent. Boat launch ramps are onsite, and for the convenience of boaters with their own rigs, boat ramps are located in Camp Area A.
Recreation on Lake Ouachita
Lake Ouachita is a 40,000-acre lake known for its fishing. Anglers come for striped bass, black bass, bream, catfish and crappie. The lake is stocked with striped bass, walleye and smallmouth bass as well. The crystal clear waters of the lake make it popular for watersports including waterskiing, sailing and scuba diving. Kayakers and snorkelers can explore on their own, or they can join a guided tour group.
The Corps of Engineers offers the exceptional Ouachita Geo-Float Trail, a 16-mile trip around the lake by kayak or canoe. The trail guides you to twelve exploration areas and takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Participants will see the geological formations that are unique to the region. Pick up a map for a self-guided trip, or join a group for an informative tour.

Located on one of the cleanest lakes in the nation, Lake Ouachita State Park Marina is a great spot for fishermen, boaters, scuba divers, swimmers and those who enjoy any kind of watersports. The marina is located within the state park and offers a variety of amenities.
The marina has boat rentals including fishing boats, ski boats, party barges, canoes and pedal boats. If you already have a boat, the marina has slip rentals for boats of various sizes. Other items available for rent include kayaks, both solo and tandem, tubes, water skis and wakeboards.
Bream, crappie, catfish, stripers and largemouth bass are popular catches from the 40,000-acre lake. The full-service marina offers fishing licenses, bait and tackle and other supplies you may need to top off your trip. The park also has picnic areas and a visitor center with a gift shop. Everything is conveniently located near Hot Springs.
